Charan Kamal Kaur had a lifelong dream of serving the poor and needy in an organized way. This dream became a reality on August 17, 2011, when she founded the 'Kartar Aasra Trust.' She outlined her vision in the objectives of the Registered Deed of the Trust, with the creation of an old age home as the top priority. As a result, Kartar Aasra Orphanage and Old Age Home were established.
A building that once housed a school was transformed into an old age home for helpless destitutes, who were welcomed to stay and cared for over the years. The Ashram gradually evolved into an organized home for senior citizens and children from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. The journey from establishing the NGO Trust to the present has been filled with challenges. While much progress has been made, there is still a long way to go, and development remains slow due to limited donations.
